My Journey with K18: From Discovery to Expertise

At 24, I thought I had it all figured out, working a marketing job that pleased my family while chipping away at my college debt. But a sudden change in my hair texture at 25, turning from straight to frizzy 2B waves, left me grappling with my identity and the lack of resources for my hair type. Determined to fill this void, I left my job for cosmetology school, supported by a nighttime restaurant gig.

This journey wasn’t just about personal growth but about addressing a broader issue within the haircare industry—creating a space that recognizes and serves the unique needs of BIPOC individuals like myself. I’m dedicated to this cause, continually seeking advanced education and opportunities to refine my skills.
