Hi, I’m Valerie, and I’m so glad you’re here!

I specialize in curl-by-curl haircuts, seasonal color analysis, and scalp health, creating personalized styles that enhance your natural texture. My approach is all about working with your hair, not against it—so whether you have waves, curls, or coils, you’ll leave with a cut and color that fit your lifestyle.

I’ve trained with Shai Amiel (The Curl Doctor) at Capella Salon and assisted celebrity stylist Cesar Ramirez on sets with Ciara, Demi Lovato, and Bebe Rexha. I was honored to receive the K18 Future Artist Scholarship and recognized as “Most Likely to Challenge the Status Quo.”

At every appointment, I focus on healthy hair and scalp care, with Deluxe Curl Services including a scalp scope analysis for a closer look at buildup, hydration levels, and overall hair health.

But beyond just the hair, I believe in creating a safe, judgment-free space where you feel truly heard. Many stylists who don’t specialize in curls treat curly hair like it’s difficult, unmanageable, or something to rush through. That’s not me. I want to understand your hair’s full journey—the good and the bad—so I can serve you in reaching your goal hair.

When I’m not in the salon, I love spending time with my husband, friends, family, and my dog, Dude.

About Nico Lev Salon

The name Nico Lev blends my middle name, Nicole ("victory of the people"), and my husband’s, Lev ("heart" or "lion"). After an 8-year career in the wine industry, he encouraged me to follow my passion for hair, and together, Nico Lev represents the heart and courage behind my journey into cosmetology.

Unlike a traditional salon, Nico Lev Salon is a private curl suite—a space designed specifically for curlies who want a personalized, one-on-one experience. Finding a new stylist can be scary, and I want you to feel safe, comfortable, and fully seen. Here, there’s no one watching, no one rushing, and no one making you feel like your hair is difficult.

I take my time to get to know you and your curls, customizing each appointment to your lifestyle, hair goals, and maintenance preferences. Whether you need a curl-by-curl cut, seasonal color refresh, or a deep detox and repair treatment, you’ll get my full attention—because your hair deserves it.
